Sunday – Chagny - A Champagne Welcome
Our private driver meets our guests in Paris or Geneva at the airport or hotel of your choice at 2:00 pm. You will then be chauffeured by minivan to the yacht, moored in Chagny. Upon arrival at the Grand Victoria’s mooring place, you will be greeted by Edward, Cindy, and our cheerful crew with a champagne toast. There will be plenty of time to unpack and unwind before your first of many incredible dinners on board.
Monday – Chagny - Fragne - Pommard and Lameloise
After breakfast, we’ll depart on a morning cruise of the canal, before heading into Chagny for lunch at the Michelin-star Lameloise. a 3-star Michelin restaurant, as a treat for the foodies in the group! The history of Maison Lameloise stretches back to 1921. It first received a third Michelin star in 1979 and continues the honor under chef Eric Pras. After lunch, we will visit the famous Château de Pommard, a historic Château near Chagny dating back centuries. At Pommard, we’ll discover the true taste of Burgundy’s appellations, viticulture, and winemaking from the heart of the largest privately-owned clos in the Cote d’Or. After, relax and enjoy the view as we cruise the Canal du Centre before dinner, and delight in one of our chef's culinary creations.
Tuesday – Fragnes - Tournus - French cooking class
Start your morning right with a delicious breakfast! After, we will depart for a private French cooking class. Hosted by a former pastry chef from the Michelin-star Maison Lameloise in Chagny, guests will prepare an incredible three-course meal with his hands-on guidance, which they will then enjoy for an intimate lunch together. After, we’ll return to the Grand Victoria for an afternoon of cruising down the majestic Saône River. Marvel at the scenic views and enjoy sundowners on deck, or even join the chef in our demonstration kitchen, as dinner is prepared.
Wednesday – Tournus - Montmerle - Cooking Demonstration
This morning, follow our chef on a market day in Pont de Vaux, a quaint village on the Saône. Explore this wonderful local market, experience the local culture, and help the chef pick out produce to take back to the Grand Victoria for the evening’s dinner. Guests will then return to the Grand Victoria for lunch aboard and a cruise further down the Saône through the southern stretch of Burgundy. In the afternoon, join our chef in the galley for a cooking demonstration as he prepares your next dinner aboard.
Thursday – Montmerle - Lyon - Pastry Class
We will spend the morning cruising down the Saône into Lyon, the gastronomic hub of France! Guests will marvel at the architectural wonders along the river, including the majestic Basilique overlooking the city. Following lunch, we will debark from the Grand Victoria to attend a private pastry class in Lyon. Learn the art of French eclairs, macarons, and other fantastic treats with an excellent instructor in France's food capital. Following the pastry class, we will return to the Grand Victoria and enjoy dinner onboard with another of our chef's dinners.
Friday – Lyon - Tour France's Gastronomic Capital
Enjoy an early breakfast before you spend the day exploring the magnificent city of Lyon. Edward will take you to tour the majestic Basilique de Fourviere that dominates the skyline of the west banks of the Saône, and see the ruins of ancient Roman amphitheaters. We will enjoy lunch back onboard before venturing into Lyon to explore the city’s various shopping venues and beautiful cafes. This evening, for our final evening together, you’ll be treated to a fantastic cocktail cruise at sunset.
Saturday – Champagne Breakfast and Departure
Our final morning together. Enjoy a delicious breakfast and mimosas. You will depart around 9:00 am for transfer by minivan to Lyon's train station or airport.
On alternate weeks the cruise will be in the reverse direction. This is a sample itinerary and is subject to change
